Dear Artists, Crafts Persons and Special Retail Businesses:
This is the 10th year for the Nelsonville Music Festival and we are growing bigger and better every year! Our festival is a 4-day outdoor event, which celebrates music and visual art. That said, we are planning to have our best year yet. Good food, great music, old friends and of course some of the most amazing handmade items around. Artists/craftspeople who are accepted as a 2014 Nelsonville Music Festival Vendor must agree to the following with NO EXCEPTIONS! — Applications are on google docs - click on the following link, you must fill in all of the required fields on the application. It is DUE APRIL 1, 2014. ALL NEW VENDORS will be juried and must submit 3 – 5 photos of the work they plan to sell and a photo of their booth. We are a green festival so no photos or applications will be accepted via snail mail. Please include a brief description with price of the items you plan to sell at the festival. Photos or website address and descriptions are to be emailed to the following address: firstname.lastname@example.org — All Items for sale must be made by the vendor - nothing mass produced or created from kits. A list of ALL items with prices to be sold must accompany application. You may be asked to remove items that you did not list (last minute additions can be made by contacting the coordinator) or that end up not meeting the above criteria. Those reselling specialty items must meet the criteria of the agreed upon product lines. Please contact the coordinator by email about those (email@example.com).
— You must agree to vend all weekend May 29 and June 1, 2014.
— You must agree to vend from the specified start time until the specified end time on the evenings of May 29, 30, 31 and until close on June 1.
— Each artist/craftsperson agrees to pay Stuart’s Opera House $90 booth fee (DUE APRIL 15, 2014) for a 10’x10’ space and donate 5% of your total sales over $500 to Stuart’s Opera House at the end of the festival. Each special retail business is required to pay $140 booth fee (DUE APRIL 15, 2014) for a 10’x10’ space and donate 5% of sales over $500 to Stuart’s Opera House at the end of the festival. The festival committee is depending on the honesty of the vendors to report and pay your actual commission. We believe our booth fees and commission rate are fair, please do not force us into changing to a higher flat rate by not being honest. DO NOT SEND MONEY NOW!!!!
— Accepted vendors may double up in a booth space. This is recommended for those who may find it difficult to stay for the duration of each day. Each vendor is required to apply separately.
— Vendors are responsible for the correct and current vendor licenses, fees and insurance. Please have proof of these with you during the festival as you may be asked to show it to the festival committee or state of Ohio tax agents. Stuart’s Opera House will be using part of the vendors’ booth fees to cover the cost of the peddler’s fee for Nelsonville, as well as other expenses. Applications must be received no later than April 1, 2014
– vendor spaces are assigned on a first come basis – it is recommended that vendors get their applications in on time. If accepted, vendors will be required to pay booth fees by April 15, 2014. Late fees or refusal of applications will apply for those who do not reply on time.
The festival, its organizers and committees do not accept any responsibility for any injury, loss or damage to goods, displays, equipment or persons. If you are accepted, a complete set up and tear down schedule will be included with your acceptance letter. You will also receive information on camping and what will be in your vendor packet upon arrival. Any vendor who does not follow the rules set forth by the organizers of the Nelsonville Music Festival or behaves in a mannernot suitable for a family atmosphere risks not being asked back as a vendor.
